JDJ Drive Drums for Belt Conveyors
A drive drum is a key component of a belt conveyor that transfers power from the motor to the belt, setting it in motion. JDJ drive drums are made from steel tubing of appropriate wall thickness, precision-welded with end discs and a shaft.

Drive Drum Lagging
Depending on operating conditions and the required friction coefficient, we offer drive drums in a smooth painted version, with diamond-pattern rubber lagging (a “rubberized” drum), or with ceramic lagging. The rubber lagging increases belt-to-drum grip, reduces slippage, and extends the service life of the conveyor belt. Ceramic lagging provides an even higher friction coefficient and performs especially well in demanding conditions – high humidity or a contaminated drum surface.
Drive Drums with Integrated Gear Motor
We also offer drive drums with an integrated gear motor – a compact drive unit mounted directly on the drum shaft. This solution eliminates the need for an external gearbox and coupling, simplifying the conveyor’s design and reducing the space needed for the drive installation.

Design and Construction
JDJ drive drums are manufactured to individual order – we select the diameter, length, hub type and shaft end to match the specific conveyor type and load. We use bearings and seals that ensure long, trouble-free operation in demanding industrial conditions.
Why Choose JDJ Drive Drums
